Sewickley Heights Golf Club
Sewickley Heights Golf Club is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in Western Pennsylvania. Since 2012, when we did our last photo shoot to showcase the rebuilding of the sand bunkers, the course underwent another renovation.
This time, many trees were removed to make the course more accessible to a wide range of handicaps. These new photos are being used on the website and for print, as needed to support membership. The first group of photos are from the Fall of 2012.
We met with the General Manager to determine the club’s goals and usage for the photos and when the course would be in the best shape for photography. After the initial meeting a scout date was set to drive the course in a golf cart.
The course was scouted at sunrise through early morning and then again at 6 pm until sunset, checking every hole for the sun’s orientation. Notes were taken and a shot plan was put together for the day of photography.
The advanced planning meetings and detailed scout resulted in photographs that were taken at the correct time of day in order to showcase the beauty of each hole.
Multiple camera angles and lens selection gave the client multiple options to choose from. The club’s Board of Directors loved the photos and requested that we continue to photograph their beautiful course during all four seasons of the year.
